Beautify Garrard County is excited to host its second annual Anti-Litter/Beautification Campaign that started May 1st and will end June 20th with The Party on the Square in downtown Lancaster. The campaign promotes litter clean up and beautification in Garrard County; encouraging personal commitment and community pride.
There is still time to do "something special" for Garrard County that will qualify you to enter to win one of the great prizes to be given away at the party ($100 cash, a one night's stay at a Kentucky State Park of choice, a gift from Lancaster Higher Education Center or Napier Brothers Clothing). Some ideas are: picking up litter on a sidewalk, cleaning up a roadside, a parking lot, a wilderness trail; helping someone in need with a special maintenance/painting/ cleaning/ landscaping project; adopting a public area and perhaps planting flowers or trees; starting to personally recycle or helping neighbors start by taking their recyclables to The Recycle Center, ETC…
At the party, write down on a piece of paper, in ten words or less, what you did and put this, along with your name, address and phone number into the designated entry box at the Farmers National Bank booth. Drawing will be at 8:45 p.m.
All persons entering contest must be at least six years of age and either live in or work in Garrard County. Please check out our website at www.beautifygarrardcounty.blogspot.com. Thank you for your help and see you at the party... :)
